Spenser Davis

Director of Programming

Spenser works around Chicago as a director, playwright and actor. He recently received a 2017 Joseph Jefferson Award (Best Director – Play) for his work on BNT’s At The Table, which won 3 other Jeff Awards including Best Production – Play and Best Ensemble and 3 TimeOut Chicago Theater Awards including Best Ensemble. As a director, his credits include A Red Orchid Theatre, Hell in a Handbag, Stage 773, Otherworld, Strawdog, Pride Films and Plays, First Floor Theatre, and several editions of the One Minute Play Festival. As an actor, he recently played Bobby in American Buffalo, the last production of Mary-Arrchie’s 30-year history. A finalist for the Actor Theatre of Louisville’s Heideman Award, his plays have been produced across the country and in Canada and Scotland; his first full-length Merge closed The New Colony’s 8th season. His work has also been published by Smith & Kraus. He’s an ensemble member of The Factory Theater and an avid fanboy of Olive Garden.
