Michael received his BFA in Acting from Columbia College Chicago, and in 2019, obtained his MFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU: Tisch School of the Arts. Most recently, he was a participant in Film Independent’s 2020 Episodic Lab, where he continued development on his Afrofuturist anime pilot: Afro-Saga Vol. 1: The Children of Lazarus. His produced plays include Rocky Road (Columbia College Chicago Main Stage Season), PUNK (The New Colony), and Kingdom (Broken Nose Theatre). Kingdom was nominated for Best New Play at the 2018 Non-Equity Jeff Awards, received the Lorraine Hansberry Award from Black Theatre Alliance Awards, and is published through Stage Rights! He now resides in The Bronx, NY.
